Planning consent for Drumduff wind farm extension will triple its generation capacity
The extension will boost the overall capacity of the Scottish wind project to over 21MW.

The 5MW project is based on the Airfield Industrial Estate on the outskirts or Eye in Mid-Suffolk. Today the turbines provide power directly to the Roy Humphrey Group with any surplus being exported to the local grid.
Our project makes an annual contribution to Mid-Suffolk District Council which is distributed to worthwhile community initiatives. In addition, we are pleased to have supported Eye Town Hall to replace traditional hall lighting with energy and cost-saving LED fittings making this community building more sustainable and accessible to the groups which rely on it.
The two Thrive Renewables wind turbines at Eye were erected during an especially cold period in early 2013 when the temperature barely rose above freezing. Our construction teams responded and exemplified their ability to work safely in tough conditions to meet our strict deadlines.
As a long-established family business and big local employer Roy Humphrey Group are keen to manage their energy costs and to support renewable energy generation in the process. Testament to the good wind resource in the area, a further two turbines were built by another developer nearby in 2014.
